Cherrybrook FC is a recently formed football club by a group of parents who decided that they wished to see a different approach to children’s football. In the past, some clubs have seemed to be dominated by managers shouting criticism at the children, arguing with referees and falling out with opposition supporters, whilst the children were overlooked and we felt that this was not the right example or approach. We top the behaviour and sportsmanship’s tables, for our players, officials and supporters in the leagues in which we participate and more than this we have been able to prove, that our approach of encouraging and assisting players need not be detrimental to success. (see our club history)
The first team which was formed in 2007 went on to win the Highfield Grange silver Jubilee tournament and from this, the cherrybrook club was formed with firstly an under 9's team, followed by an under 7's. The club now has representative teams at various levels from under 6 to open age.
The teams currently play in the North West Mini Soccer League based at Robin Park. Warrington League and Wigan and District League. Club training takes place at the soccerdome on a tuesday evening between 5:00and 6:00 to which all the squads are invited.
Despite only forming in 2007 the club has already developed excellent relations with a number of premiership clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City, Wigan Athletic, Everton and Liverpool and a large number of cherrybrook players attend their academies. (see club news)
